CELEBRATION: Birthday & Farewell @ Serai, Empire Shopping Gallery

This post is dedicated to my beloved friend // granddaughter who will be flying later at 11.59pm to Louisiana, US. First of all, I am so sorry that I am not able to send you off and sing "all I want by Kodaline" with the chore we talked earlier (HAHA?) Anyhow, I am still here at my home wishing you to have a safe flight and all the best in US, be safe all the time. OKAY? (please reply me OKAY) after you view this and have landed safely.

We celebrated her birthday as well as her farewell in a malay fusion restaurant, seriously out of our expectations. Normally we will only pick western, korean or something else, but for sure not malay. However, I feel it was quite a great choice, at least she got to enjoy a malay styled meal before flying to US.

Fortunately we made reservation before heading there, seriously aint no joke as the line in Serai is absolutely crazy.

Left: Minted Calamansi Soda (RM10.50) - Soda with crushed mint leaves & calamansi.
Center: Serai Blended (RM10.50) - Ice blended with lychees & lemongrass extract. (worse, tasteless)
Right: Serai Iced Tea (RM12) - Lemon sorbet, lemongrass extract and a hint of fresh mint.

Nasi Kerabu (RM22) - Blue-tinted rice served with ayam percik, salted egg, ulam, solok lada & keropok ikan. (my friends loved this the most, but I hate this the most, I just really don't like it).

Beef Rendang Penne (RM23)

Thai Mango Kerabu (RM15) - with dried cuttlefish, birds eye chilli & crushed peanuts.

Tom Yum Seafood (RM8) - Choice of serai's homemade tom yum paste or clear broth. (not the best tom yum :( )

Middle Eastern Medley (RM45) - Moroccan lamb shank cooked to perfection, served with spiced rice, cucumber raite and signature Turkish relish. (I know this is super expensive, but its huge and da bomb!)

Deepfried salted egg squid (RM20)

Nasi Ambang (RM20) - white rice served with portions of prawn sambal, beef rendang tok, ikan kering, fried noodles, mixed vegetables & tempe.

Because the princess saw someone ate ABC (and all of us thought it was a cendol), so I went to order a cendol (ended up not what we saw) & red velvet (supposingly order pavlova but sold out) for her :( HAPPY BIRTHDAY IN ADVANCE.

We just wanted a group photo then the waiter insisted us to stand in front of their restaurant with their shop name to take a group photo =.=

and there goes the photobomber at the back.

Then we became their ambassadors.

*********************************************************

Last but not least, I hope you can read this when you arrive there. Those geli geli words no need to say lah, keep it in your heart, I will see you soon? May your smiles brighten up the angmos there and remember bring one back :P

Have a nice day!
Love, Winnie.

A bday post of my bestie before I fly in a bit. She's the youngest in our gang and her actual bday was at 28th Oct, IKnowRight, it was 2 months late bday celebration for her due to.....our exams, our holidays, our schedules, so finally we managed to gather together and celebrate yesterday! We got the idea of having Italian cuisine, so came up the plan to try La Risata, Ampang.

We had our seats outdoor cause indoor full house already, sad case, should have make reservation before we came, probably because xmas is coming soon and the people celebrate early xmas. So I'd suggest everyone make a reservation first.

CELEBRATION: Happy 19th Birthday, Brian!

It was my fav boy's birthday yesterday and I planned him a birthday celebration at Bangsar. Somehow, both of us don't think that it was his birthday but our anniversary. Actually our anniversary fall on 27th of August which is Tuesday, and we have school so that we can't celebrate on the actual day. He put so much effort on this 5th years anniversary and he thought his bday is just a normal day.

I'm going to talk about his birthday only in this post,  I'll post it about our fifth years anniversary on 27th !

Had his bday brunch at Nosh, Bangsar because I heard that their desserts are the best in KL. Desserts always attracted me first, but that was pretty sad because we didn't eat their desserts LOL

Will you berry me, rm17. I chose this because of the name, haha, sounds sweet. This is pancake with berries, and I actually thought that was vanilla ice cream but not, it was cream -.-

The noshling, rm23. This is like egg benedict, or same as rbb the atlantic, eggs with smoked salmon.

Passion shy,rm 12.

For July and August, Nosh has it pandan delicio as their cake of the month. Nosh normally makes different kind of cakes in every two months, and I thought I will be ordered their pandan delicio because the feedback is good, but when I asked the waiter to make a new order, and he thought I wanted to bill -.- so I just billed. But I will come again because I really want to try their desserts. Nosh is only right beside dip n dip at Jalan Telawi 3!

My fav boy, with pancake.

Isn't he looks smart? I actually wanted to buy him denim shirt but ended up bought him a casual smart shirt. Anyhow he looked great.

After that, we went to bangsar village to have a walk because brian was fulled then had our second round at coffea coffee. I knew that he loves to drink coffee, and he will be dead if he didn't drink coffee, so we made our move to coffea coffee, Jalan Telawi 2.

Green tea, rm13.

Coffee Latte, rm11.

Both of us actually got the love art! I kinda like the green tea. After I read foursquare's tips, we can actually request the barista to draw anything we want if they can make it.

We had our movie session at Midvalley, so that we headed to The Gardens after our tea, and we went Alexis to buy bday cake and sing bday song for him.

Mixed Fruit Pavlova, rm16.

This is my first try of pavlova, I thought it will be nice because fulled with strawberries, but it wasn't. I saw a lot ordered this instead of their tiramisu, then I doubted.... why they order pavlova -.- For me & my bf, we both barely finished our cake, this was sucks. I hate pavlova now. Tiramisu is only the best in Alexis. Sorry, no offense, I really hate the taste, entirely, of the cream, the cake....

The bday boy. Sorry for making u to eat this cake =_________=

Finally it came to our movie session, we watched the mortal instruments: city of bones. I wanted to watch this desperately not because of Lily Collins, but the trailer just attracted me alot, I love this genre of movie, like vampire, demon, angel... I think I was being a spoiler, because I tweeted the results of the movie :/ but I just can't stand with it! why?! why was the ending like this?! I read some reviews said this movie is similar with twilight but I personally feel this is better than twilight. Even Jamie Campbell Bower isn't handsome but he is so cool and sweet in the movie. I got the urge to read the story books now.

We had our anniversary dinner after our movie on the same day, I'm not going to talk anything about the anniversary first, so please stay tuned! :)

BTW, I just want to show off my pony phone case, because the pony is so cute! OK, done.... birthday is over, so.... bye bye.

CELEBRATION: Sis's 18th Birthday

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY PIG SISTER! (no offense, I called her in that way)

It's 12 of August and also her 18th bok bok cui bday. I guess she has her bok bok cui year also huh? getting fatter and fatter :P

So my post here is about her pre-birthday celebration with family. I don't know is this called birthday celebration but its been a long time since we all 6 family members spend time together.

My outfit of the day.

Top: kitschen, skirt: nichii, flat shoes: guess, watch: fossil, handbag: charles & keith

Sister struggled for a long time to choose either going to midvalley or pavilion or sunway? She wanted to eat sushi zanmai, but sukiya and also shogun. I stopped her to choose sunway because I don't think sunway is a nice place to hang or probably because shogun is getting worse...At last, we chose pavilion to try sukiya. In the past few times I went to pavilion, sukiya surely crowded with people, and indeed, we reached around 12.30pm, started pack with people already.

Plan changed :( gave up on sukiya and we chose din tai fung. We waited half hour for a seat because raya holiday...hmm...

Thats it! As we know, xiao long ba is very famous in din tai fung.

We waited half an hour for a seat and made our order outside the restaurant, so its photo session!

After half an hour, we finally got our seat and had our lunch! I forgot what is the name of the foods.

I think they just cooked too long and the chicken became too rough & hard to chew, I don't really like it because it's quite normal.

We ordered 3 笼 of xiao long bao. Just because my sister forgot to take photo and we left 3 pieces only, so here with the 3 pieces of xiao long bao LOL

There is 2 more dishes I didnt take which is fried rice with pork chop and sweet & sour chicken with one bowl of white rice. I love the sweet & sour chicken so much, and pork chop tasted good also. While, the mee is just a little too plain.

After our meal, we walked around and meet up with brian. My dad & sis weren't full yet and brian hasn't had his lunch, so second round in food republic. After that, we went to tokyo street and JPOP ice cream again! JPOP ice cream is a must and cannot miss out in tokyo street, I love the ice cream so much.

Green tea, black sesame & raspberry yogurt. RM8.90 per stick, its costly but worth every penny.

My dad & brothers went home after this, Brian & I brought my mom & sis to publika since they have not been there before, and most important I was craving for salon de chocolat & coffee stain.

Unfortunately, most of the shops were closed because of raya, and my mom said : this called shopping mall meh? no people also. How i know it will close when raya, probably more malay stay at there, thats why...

So we just walked around and went to B.I.G ben's independent grocer. This is a very special and high class grocery, I love this place so much and the best grocery I ever been. Discovered a lot of thing I never see before in a normal grocery shop like Tesco, Jusco & so on. Too many things to find out there 0.0 I should call myself katak di bawah tempurung. They do not allowed me to take photos but I captured something that I feel its so much intertesting.

Are you guys thinking this is just a normal photo? It is. But the special part is.... they planted the cabbage there. This is fresh cabbage, if you want to buy, pluck it out ( apparently, every cabbage with its roots ) so you will be plucked out both cabbage and its roots together. I first ever seen a grocery plant in their shop. We bought few special thing and we had our coffee time in coffee stain.

Coffe Stain by Joseph, Solaris Dutamas

Latte Macchioto, rm9.50

Espresso Macchioto, rm6

Mocha, rm9.00

Birthday cake treat from me, mocha cheese cake rm12.90.

Speak to the salon de chocolat, it closed! I was like sad to the max, I wanted to eat so desperately :( anyhow I have to accept the fact. I will try it next time, I swear.

Before headed home, I brought my mom & sis to publika park to have a short modelling time :P

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MY LOVELY SISTER! <3 <3 <3
